Gazpacho Takes The Lead
With only months left to decide on a menu, Gazpacho soup has taken the lead, once more.
It is a logical choice, and there is a very interesting story how it got on the menu in the first place.
It was another day on the road, and the meeting was brutal. The "numbers" were in, and the expenses were exceeding revenues. We were going through the wringer that day, sharpening and whittling our budgets under careful eyes. The meetings were no longer entertaining motivational experiences. It was a case of cut expenses fast or be gone. It was a gloomy day, until we were reprieved and invited to dinner. There were twenty of us at the table, and everyone was just glad to be there, so when it came time to order, everyone selected the least expensive item they could find.
When my turn came, I ordered a (small) dinner salad, and asked if they could also bring some Gazpacho soup. Then the person next to me ordered Gazpacho soup, and soon, everyone added Gazpacho soup to their order, except for the person glaring at me who was paying the check.
I had a lot explaining to do, but I weathered the storm.
Anyone for Gazpacho?
